Re: Christmas Curry
6 curries - 6 candidates.
1st, 2nd and 3rd team captains all do one and choose one member of their team.
some interesting names coming up! Personally I'm a fan of the how long can Zak smile for sweepstake but also being the politician I think we should try and maintain equal opportunities!!
Can I just reassure anyone who doesn't know or has forgotten - I have done this twice now so am well and truely excused!!
This year we do need to see some better performances than last year when milk was administered to crying, burning 2nd and 3rd team members!!
I would also like to include the following picture as a reminder of what the thaal can do for you:
Plus can I also agree with Jewy suggestion of a Poll for this - Marcin would be another good candidate indeed!!!

Re: Christmas Curry
guys I'm glad there's some actual build up to the phal this yr.
I'm gonna say that if me an skin reg do a phal and a pint we'l b done quicker than bolton and cone were last yr with their phal and milk (gay).
should we just get the whole club a phal instead of the usual brown, orange or yellow curry?! then no-one feels left out!

Re: Christmas Curry
I vote Sellens should strawpedo a small bottle of phaal whilst Baxter strawpedo's a wine bottle of phaal.
Club phaal sounds like a plan.

Re: Christmas Curry
definately no club phaal. 2 reasons
1) part of the greatness of the event is that it is HILARIOUS to watch the event if everyone does it there will be no enjoyment. i have never laughed so much as when laidler did his.
2) Without fail, i think everyone who does it has to go for a shit in the union that night as it burns a whole straight through. the union toilet network would be unable to withstand the whole club going for a phaaly poo on christmas day.
thaal appears to be something very different http://www.shreeswaminarayan.org.uk/sstw_academy/Rrm/Thaal_cookbook.pdf
also thought this would make some good reading material for the uneducated:
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Phall (sometimes spelt as phaal, phal or paal) is a British Asian Indian curry dish, which originated in Indian restaurants in the UK, and is not to be confused with the char-broiled, gravyless, finger food phall from Bangalore.[1] It is one of the hottest forms of curry regularly available, even hotter than the Vindaloo,[2] using a large number of ground standard chili peppers, or a hotter type of chili such as scotch bonnet or habanero. Typically, the dish is a tomato based thick curry and includes ginger and optionally fennel seeds.[3]
The phall has achieved notoriety as the hottest generally available dish from Indian restaurants. For example, the well-known Brick Lane Curry House in New York has a "P'Hall of Fame" on their website[4] and will provide customers who finish the dish with a free drink and a certificate.[5] In the UK, a charity competition was based on competitors eating increasingly hot phalls.[6] It is claimed that the name is derived from phallus to signify the machismo of a man who can eat such hot food.[7]
ps great of you to try and man up Bolton, but we saw you have a little chilli sauce at the social on saturday and you almost died. not going to happen.

Re: Christmas Curry
Balti king may not understand the term phal...they simply refer to it as the brown curry.

I formally request that Bolton be excused from dressing as a balerina for christmas curry if he spends the whole of union christmas day wearing this.
